Psychological Testing & Neuropsychological Testing
State of the art testing instruments are used to assess for ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychotic Disorders including Schizophrenia, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delays and a broad spectrum of neuropsychological syndromes. Results are provided through consultation as well as detailed individually written reports (that are never computer generated).
Neuropsychological tests measure short and long-term memory, attention and concentration, learning and reasoning, and other cognitive functions. These tests measure how a person performs these tasks and uses this information to understand a persons strengths and weaknesses. Neuropsychological testing is used to assist in diagnosing brain disorder or disease, developmental delays, Dementia or Alzheimers disease, or to assist in functional recovery assessment for sufferers of traumatic brain injury or stroke.
Psychodiagnostic assessments provide information regarding a persons mental health diagnosis. Following clinical interviews and testing, a psychological report is written which discusses symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. Each assessment uses tests that specifically address symptoms and concerns.
The evaluation is followed by a consultation during which, the psychologist gives a detailed explanation of the test results and recommendations. Additional consultations with family, caregivers, IEP meeting staff, legal counsel, or psychiatric and other professional health care providers are also available.
